Mid-Career Executive Fellowship


The HOPS Mid-Career Executive Fellowship will accelerate the leadership transition by combining personalized learning on campus with practical application such as policy briefing at various ministries of the central government (Tokyo) and local governments (Sapporo) as well as policy discussion with senior officials, former ministers, and CEOs of major companies in Japan. The key benefits of the programme are the modules designed to broaden the participants’ perspective on policy-making, decision-making and leadership skills. Participants will learn how to identify, frame and solve complex policy issues and drive innovation. The programme will deliver the tools that will enable the participants to play a more strategic role in their respective organizations. 

Who can apply?

-Applicants must be a citizen or permanent resident of Taiwan (ROC). 
-Applicants must have at least 5 to 10 years working experience in the public or private sector.
-Applicants must have language proficiency in both Japanese (Japanese Language Proficiency Test Level 1 or equivalent) and English (TOEIC 750 or equivalent).

-Please note that the application requires your personal information, submission of your C.V., copy of your passport  and a statement regarding the following question. Please refer to the university's privacy policy in the top page regarding the handling of personal information.
-Essay question: Submit a statement that discusses your career goals, as well as the factors that led you to select the Japan Taiwan Mid-Career Executive Programme. Be as specific as possible in describing how your expected course of study will enable you to build on your prior professional experience and achieve those goals. (1000 Japanese characters)

Selection of Candidates

-Successful candidates will be notified by Friday, May 24, 2024 via email.
-Selected candidates will be provided the following:
1) Roundtrip air ticket (coach) 
2) Accommodation 
3) Local transportation
4) Welcome and farewell dinner
-We request all successful candidates to obtain a travel insurance before coming to Japan. We ask that you obtain the insurance on your own expense (the programme cannot reimburse the cost of travel insurance).
